Lemon Bars and a Recipe I cannot find!!

I can't find the notebook (where you see half the recipe written down) to this amazing recipe for Lemon Squares :+/, but I did this Classic Lemon Bar recipe, that might be close. I just remember these making a big hit at a party I went to. I remember using lots and lots of lemons! These were incredibly delicious!

Wedding invites for my friends Jodi and Mark

I recently designed wedding invites for my friends Jodi and Mark. The wedding takes place in an outdoor backyard in the end of summer. Their colors are marigold and navy blue. I wanted this to have a summer, carefree feeling—showing lightening bugs and romantic/antique script type.

And here's some shots below, showing the engaged couple assembling all the invites together. Oh it's love! All smiles.

Wedding Save the Date & Invite for my friends Graeme and Misha

For this particular wedding, it was taken place overseas in Scotland. Although overseas, the couple mainly wanted to focus on each other and not the travel theme per se. Their colors were hot pink and blue. The groom is a photographer, so kind of wanted to bring that aspect in with the photo booth. The bride is very crafty, so I added little crafty details, like dotted lines, etc. to look like it was sewn. The 3 stars on the actual invite, represent DC. We did postcards for both, printing them at modernpostcard.com.

The Daily Drop Cap

Inspired by Jessica Hische's Daily Drop Cap, me and my coworkers have decided to do a Drop Cap per day. I plan to focus my alphabet on fruits and vegetables. Letter A, being a slice of an apple.

The beginning of a new painting

My good friend Tasha and I are creating this wonderful art piece for her pad. This is just the beginning, but we plan to do some collaging of other textures on top. Will keep you posted!

Watercolored Origami Patterns

Sometimes I just want to draw patterns. I especially love origami. I found this one that really inspired me to create something. I'm also playing around with watercolors, which I'm not used to using. I love the effect of transparencies watercolors can create. I interpret the pattern using watercolor, then scan and create fun things in photoshop and illustrator. Once I saw the little flower shapes it made me think of something very feminine and soft. Maybe this could be a perfect hairpiece for a wedding?
